Note from Joe: My high school English class assignment was: Write a poem in iambic heptameter, on any subject. This was the result.
by Joseph K. Horn, age 15
He's always nice to others, but he’s rarely kind to you,
And so you call him “hypocrite”, quite sure the name is true:
What else could make him, when with you, so very mean and proud,
But then be full of kindness when he’s with a different crowd?
My friend, you do not see the truth about the way he acts,
Because you do not wish to face a mirror, or the facts:
The simple truth is that he imitates what others do.
That’s why he’s very nice to them, and proud and mean to you.
